Janelle Kaiser is our dressage instructor.   Janelle is  a graduate of Purdue University  where she majored in Animal Science and minored in Animal Production/Pre-Veterinary  Medicine.

Janelle has been extensively involved with horses since childhood. She began her equestrian pursuits at the age of five, riding hunters and jumpers.

At the young age of ten, Janelle focused on the study of dressage and became a student with Kaiser Dressage at Forrest Hill Farm. Janelle and her American Warmblood mare Valise had a very successful show career. Together they earned numerous state championships and highpoint dressage awards. In 1999 Janelle and Valise won the Region 2 ABIG/USDF Jr / Yg Rider First Level Championship and third at Second Level.

Riding the grand prix stallion, Cottonwood Flame, Janelle also won the prestigious Equus Championship, a three phase competition for junior riders.

Janelle’s dedication and riding skills have earned her many opportunities to further her equestrian education. She has participated in many clinics with top international trainers. Janelle has been chosen as a clinic demonstration rider for the distinguished dressage trainers; Hilda Gurney, Charles DeKunffy, Lilo Fore, Michael Poulin, and Gerhard Politz, riding Valise and other horses of all levels. Janelle and Valise have also routinely participated in clinics with Christopher Hickey.

In 2002 Janelle took a leave of absence from college and traveled to Florida with her mare, spending the winter riding and training with Jennifer Kaiser and Christopher Hickey to intensify their training and broaden her experiences .

In addition to lessons and showing Janelle is experienced in all aspects of equine husbandry/farm management including breeding and foaling.

Janelle has successfully trained, shown, and bred numerous dressage horses. She can bring a young dressage prospect from the lower levels through the high school movements. At Forrest Hill Farm Janelle was responsible for daily schooling of many young dressage prospects and proven competitors. She is equally capable of starting a difficult youngster as well as teaching advanced movements to an FEI prospect.

Janelle routinely teaches many students of various levels. She is experienced and confident teaching both beginners as well as more experienced students, striving to develop their individual talents and interests and sharing her enthusiasm for the art and discipline of dressage. Janelle also travels to teach and train at select outside facilities.

Her hobbies include showing and breeding Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs and hiking. Her accomplishments with her show-dogs can be seen at www.senecaswissys.com.
